  17. urbane: polished and smooth in manner. polite; refined; elegant.

  18. predilection: an established preference.

  19. temerity: presumptuous audacity. unreasonable contempt of danger.

  20. sycophant: a parasite; a toady. lackey or suck-up supporter.
