Leadership: Cultivating a Brilliant Creative Team

Feb 2, 2013

When cultivating a creative team, don't make the common mistake of only looking for technicians. And don't fool yourself into thinking you can just "hire" smart people and manage them with traditional leadership if you want to achieve something spectacular. Brilliance and super-creativity can only be cultivated and recognized by creative brilliance itself. You can't ask for or get what you don't understand yourself, and this is one of the key challenges of leadership. To even have a conversation about uncommon brilliance you must develop a new vocabulary of freedom, which is mostly foreign in corporate cultures. We live in a culture of violence

Kindness is seen as weakness and intelligence worshiped, even when that intelligence allows unfathomable injustice and suffering to occur under its smart watch. There is no greater intelligence than kindness and empathy. Kindness is the supreme intelligence. Let your b...

Consuming all til all is done

They love the greedy harlot’s hand They love the selfish gaping grin They love the murderous natural man They love the supple, silky skin They taste the baby, budding fruit They gulp the green-leafed tender bud They taste the sour, shadowed root They drink the darkest demon’s blood They consume the world, their own estate They do not love their children one Their own flesh, the thing they hate Consuming all ‘til all is done See More Poetry and Photography in Bryant's Book:Collected Works of Poetry, Photography and Art
