Langston Hughes: Democracy (English)

 
Democracy will not come 
Today, this year 
   Nor ever 
Through compromise and fear. 

I have as much right  
As the other fellow has 
  To stand 
On my two feet  
And own the land. 

I tire so of hearing people say,  
Let things take their course. 
Tomorrow is another day. 
I do not need my freedom when I'm dead. 
I cannot live on tomorrow's bread. 

      Freedom 
      Is a strong seed 
      Planted 
      In a great need. 

      I live here, too. 
      I want freedom 
      Just as you.

La démocratie ne viendra pas aujourd'hui, cette année ni jamais par 
le compromis et la crainte. 

J'ai autant le droit que l'autre camarade doit se tenir sur mes deux 
pieds et posséder la terre. 

Je fatigue ainsi de l'audition les gens disent, laissent la prise de 
choses leur cours. Le demain est un autre jour. Je n'ai pas besoin de 
ma liberté quand je suis mort. Je ne peux pas vivre sur le pain de 
demain. 

      Liberté 
Est une graine forte plantée dans un grand besoin. 

      Je vis ici, aussi. Je veux la liberté juste comme toi.

Demokratie kommt heute, dieses Jahr noch überhaupt nicht durch 
Kompromiß und Furcht. 

Ich habe so viel Recht, wie der andere Gefährte auf meinen zwei 
Füßen stehen und das Land besitzen muß. 

Ich ermüde, also von der Hörfähigkeit sagen Leute, lassen 
Sachenehmen ihr Kurs. Morgen ist ein anderer Tag. Ich benötige nicht 
meine Freiheit, wenn ich tot bin. Ich kann nicht auf morgigem Brot 
leben. 

      Freiheit 
Ist ein starker Samen, der in einer großen Notwendigkeit errichtet 
wird. 

      Ich lebe hier, auch. Ich wünsche Freiheit gerade als Sie.

A democracia não virá hoje, este ano nem sempre com o acordo e o 
medo. 

Eu tenho tanto quanto a direita como o outro companheiro tem que estar 
em meus dois pés e possuir a terra. 

Eu canso-me assim que do hearing os povos dizem, deixam a tomada das 
coisas seu curso. O amanhã é um outro dia. Eu não necessito minha 
liberdade quando eu estou inoperante. Eu não posso viver no pão 
tomorrow's. 

      Liberdade 
É uma semente forte plantada em uma necessidade grande. 

      Eu vivo aqui, demasiado. Eu quero a liberdade apenas como você.

La democracia no vendrá hoy, este año ni siempre con compromiso y 
miedo. 

Tengo tanto derecha como el otro compañero tiene que estar parado en 
mis dos pies y poseer la tierra. 

Me canso así que de la audiencia la gente dice, deja la toma de las 
cosas su curso. La man¢ana es otro día. No necesito mi libertad 
cuando soy muerto. No puedo vivir en el pan de mañana. 

      Libertad 
Es una semilla fuerte plantada en una gran necesidad. 

      Vivo aquí, también. Deseo la libertad apenas como usted.
