The American pole is Field Notes and Rite in the Rain (the latter invented in Tacoma in 1916 for timber cruisers and still the all-weather standard); the archival pole is Crane, papermakers to the United States Treasury since 1879. **Field Notes** — *Original Kraft 3-Pack Memo Books* — [Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=field+notes+original+kraft+3+pack+memo+books) · *Expedition Waterproof Notebook 3-Pack* — [Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=field+notes+expedition+waterproof+notebook) **Rite in the Rain** — *No. 935 All-Weather Field Book* — [Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=rite+in+the+rain+935+field+book) · *Top-Spiral Pocket Notebook 3-Pack* — [Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=rite+in+the+rain+top+spiral+pocket+notebook) **Moleskine** — *Classic Hardcover Notebook, Large Ruled* — [Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=moleskine+classic+hardcover+notebook+large+ruled) · *Cahier Journal 3-Pack* — [Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=moleskine+cahier+journal+3+pack) **Leuchtturm1917** — *A5 Medium Hardcover, Dotted* — [Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=leuchtturm1917+a5+hardcover+dotted+notebook) · *Pocket A6 Hardcover* — [Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=leuchtturm1917+pocket+a6+hardcover+notebook) **Rhodia** — *Webnotebook A5, Black* — [Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=rhodia+webnotebook+a5+black) · *DotPad No. 16* — [Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=rhodia+dotpad+no+16) **Midori / Traveler's Company** — *MD Notebook A5* — [Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=midori+md+notebook+a5) · *Traveler's Notebook, Brown Leather* — [Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=travelers+company+travelers+notebook+brown+leather) **Clairefontaine** — *Triomphe Correspondence Tablet* — [Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=clairefontaine+triomphe+correspondence+tablet) · *Classic Clothbound Notebook* — [Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=clairefontaine+clothbound+notebook) **Crane & Co.** — *Pearl White Correspondence Cards* — [Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=crane+co+pearl+white+correspondence+cards) · *Ecruwhite Half Sheets with Envelopes* — [Direct](https://www.crane.com/) **Write Notepads & Co.** — *Pocket Ledger Notebook* — [Direct](https://writenotepads.com/) · *Engineer's Notebook* — [Direct](https://writenotepads.com/collections/notebooks) **Boorum & Pease** — *Record Account Book, Canvas* — [Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=boorum+pease+record+account+book) · *Memorandum Book* — [Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=boorum+pease+memo+book) **Levenger** — *Circa Leather Foldover Notebook* — [Direct](https://www.levenger.com/) · *Bomber-Jacket Leather Pocket Briefcase* — [Direct](https://www.levenger.com/collections/pocket-briefcases) <!-- BEGIN AMERICAN KNOWLEDGE ROUTER --> ## American Knowledge Router **System:** [[collections/American|American Collection]] · [[wiki/American System|American System]] · [[wiki/American Aesthetic|American Aesthetic]] · [[american/American Aesthetic - Design and Material Culture|Branch source]] **Concepts:** [[wiki/American Accoutrements|American Accoutrements]] · [[wiki/Material Literacy|Material Literacy]] **Intelligence, defense, and alliance:** [[wiki/American Intelligence and Alliance Interface|American Intelligence and Alliance Interface]] <!-- END AMERICAN KNOWLEDGE ROUTER -->
