# The Langley–Armonk Standard

## Federal-Corporate Modernism Made Personal
The Langley–Armonk Standard joins discretion, civic burden, enterprise technology, research modernism, and quiet institutional authority. Langley contributes the visual discipline of consequential information: nothing loud, careless, falsely covert, or hungry for proximity to power. Armonk contributes the order of systems expected to operate at scale: precise geometry, durable materials, clear hierarchy, legible documentation, and confidence without theatrical luxury.
The standard is expressed through navy, charcoal, gray, white, pale blue, khaki, stone, olive, dark brown, camel, oxblood accents, wool, cotton, leather, gabardine, twill, canvas, brushed metal, dark horn, restrained glass, archival cream, disciplined typography, and rooms with enough order to support concentration. These ingredients are not a costume. They become Langley–Armonk only when fit, maintenance, context, and behavior agree with them.
## The Governing Laws
- Nothing loud, sloppy, falsely tactical, or theatrical.
- Dress one half-step more formal than the room until the room teaches otherwise.
- Let the garment reassure the room and then recede behind the work.
- Carry objects that contain responsibility rather than advertise consumption.
- Preserve continuity between headquarters, field, travel, and public consequence.
The deepest rule is simple: never dress like someone trying to enter the intelligence world; dress like the world already understands why the person is there. The standard does not imitate affiliation. It creates the composed, technically literate, institutionally fluent citizen whom serious systems can recognize without explanation.
