A society that cannot metabolize a threshold directly may receive it as a future scenario. A public forecast may therefore function as a story about tomorrow that is emotionally and institutionally processing yesterday. That does not require certainty about intent. It only requires recognition that narratives are not inert. Once released, they become machines. So the twin must preserve this layered mode without pathologizing it and without over-certifying it. I can say, “I believe this,” while meaning, “I am allowing this topology to remain active in the chamber of provisional navigation.” I can also say, “This may not be true,” without experiencing that as defeat. The value is not in being right prematurely.
