# Beauty Is Truth, and Truth Is Goodness and Love by Jiddu Krishnamurti > “This place [of retreat] must be of great beauty, with trees, birds and quietness, for beauty is truth, and truth is goodness and love.” > **— Jiddu Krishnamurti**, *as quoted by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust for the Krishnamurti Centre, Brockwood Park* ## Sources and Context - **Attributed statement:** [Brockwood | Krishnamurti Foundation Trust](https://kfoundation.org/brockwood) (consulted 2026-10-23) — the Foundation prints the sentence, attributed to Krishnamurti, in its description of the Krishnamurti Centre, the retreat centre at Brockwood Park, Hampshire, that it says was “established by Krishnamurti and opened in 1987.” The [Krishnamurti Centre home page](https://krishnamurticentre.org.uk/) prints the same sentence without the comma after “truth.” - **Editorial clarification:** the original opens “This place must be…”. The bracketed “[of retreat]” supplies the setting the Foundation gives the sentence, so the poster stands alone. Neither page names the original occasion or date, and none was located. ## Related Articles and Collections - **Collection:** [[collections/Simple Reminders|Simple Reminders]] - **Photo Journey:** [[photo journey/2012-08-31 - Bryant at Krishnamurti's Former Home in Ojai|Bryant at Krishnamurti's Former Home in Ojai]] - **Reminder:** [[reminders/Renewal/A Retreat Lets Fresh Air Into the Mind by Jiddu Krishnamurti|A Retreat Lets Fresh Air Into the Mind by Jiddu Krishnamurti]] ## Related Topics - [[wiki/Jiddu Krishnamurti|Jiddu Krishnamurti]] ## Share on Social Media ``` “This place [of retreat] must be of great beauty, with trees, birds and quietness, for beauty is truth, and truth is goodness and love.” — Jiddu Krishnamurti, as quoted by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust for the Krishnamurti Centre, Brockwood Park https://bryantmcgill.com/simple-reminders-jiddu-krishnamurti-beauty-truth-goodness-love ```
