# ASI Is a Means for the Evolution of Humanity by Masayoshi Son > “Today, I am more energized than ever because I realized our ultimate mission: the evolution of humanity. What greater cause could there be? This mission will be accomplished through the realization of artificial super intelligence (ASI)—AI that is ten thousand times more intelligent than human wisdom.” > **— Masayoshi Son**, *SoftBank Group Report 2024, CEO Message, June 21, 2024* ## Sources and Context - **Primary source:** [Masayoshi Son’s CEO Message in the SoftBank Group Report 2024](https://group.softbank/en/ir/financials/annual_reports/2024/message/son) — verifies the wording, attribution and immediate source setting. - **Interpretive context:** The restored lead sentence supplies the mission that the fragmentary “This mission” depended on: Son identifies SoftBank’s ultimate purpose as the evolution of humanity and presents ASI as its proposed mechanism. The quotation therefore documents a major corporate leader openly joining superintelligence strategy to technological evolution. - **Editorial treatment:** The source paragraph begins with a biographical transition about an earlier crisis of confidence. The quotation starts at the first self-contained sentence naming the mission and continues without omission through Son’s definition of ASI. ## Related Articles and Collections - **Collection:** [[collections/Machine Succession|Machine Succession]] - **Collection:** [[collections/Simple Reminders|Simple Reminders]] - **Article:** [[articles/AI Escape Is the Wrong Metaphor|AI Escape Is the Wrong Metaphor]] - **Article:** [[articles/We Cannot Un-Strike the Match|We Cannot Un-Strike the Match]] - **Wiki map:** [[wiki/Machine Succession|Machine Succession]] ## Related Topics - [[wiki/Masayoshi Son|Masayoshi Son]] - [[wiki/SoftBank|SoftBank]] - [[wiki/Human Evolution|Human Evolution]] - [[wiki/Superintelligence|Superintelligence]] - [[wiki/Technological Evolution|Technological Evolution]] ## Share on Social Media ``` “Today, I am more energized than ever because I realized our ultimate mission: the evolution of humanity.
