# Classical Names in Technology Families
Classical names sometimes appear in technology leaders' family lives as well as in their products. Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan named their daughters Maxima, August, and Aurelia, names with Latin and Roman resonances. Elon Musk and Shivon Zilis publicly announced a son named Seldon Lycurgus: “Seldon” recalls the science-fiction character Hari Seldon, while “Lycurgus” is also the name of a figure in Spartan tradition. A name can be meaningful without revealing the parents' complete philosophy or proving that every classical association was intended.
These examples connect [[wiki/Roman Antiquity in Silicon Valley|Roman references]], [[wiki/Ancient Greece|Greek antiquity]], and modern technological imagination at an intimate scale. They are public naming facts, not arguments about the children or predictions about their futures.
