# Clean-Device Baseline
A clean-device baseline is a controlled comparison environment intended to separate effects tied to a device from effects inherited through accounts, carrier state, restored data, management enrollment, applications, or network configuration.
## Notebook evidence
PDF page 30 of [[Scanned_20260730-1845]] proposes a clean phone, independent carrier context, notes, photographs, account isolation, and evidentiary capture amid the longer Apple/Google identity investigation.
## Methodological value
The proposal is an experimental-control intuition. A defensible baseline would document acquisition, model/serial, firmware and OS build, activation path, SIM/eSIM, network, accounts, restored data, installed apps, timestamps, hashes where applicable, and every subsequent change.
## Boundary
The handwritten plan does not prove it was executed or that the original device or accounts were compromised. A “clean” device can also inherit state through carrier provisioning, cloud restore, enrollment, or network configuration if those variables are not controlled.
