# Digital Forensic Research Lab
The Digital Forensic Research Lab is an Atlantic Council research unit focused on open-source analysis of online information, influence activity, and digital threats.
## Role in the article
DFRLab is part of the civil-society analytic layer within [[Information-Environment Radar]], complementing government research programs, platform threat-intelligence teams, and commercial network analysis.
## Evidentiary role
Its relevance is methodological: public evidence can be assembled into reproducible accounts of account behavior, narrative propagation, infrastructure, and campaign timing. Open-source visibility remains incomplete and must be separated from provider-only evidence.
