# Fing ## Identification Fing is a network-scanning and device-discovery application available on mobile and desktop platforms. Its functions include enumerating devices visible on a network and recording network/device information ([official Fing feature guide](https://help.fing.com/hc/en-us/articles/4418790433426-Fing-App-Features)). ## Notebook relationship The vault owner corrects the installed-software reading in Scanned_20260730-1650, PDF page 4 to **“Fyade”** and states that another note says **“maybe Fing.”** The second note’s exact notebook and page have not yet been located in the integrated Markdown corpus. Fing is therefore a plausible candidate for Fyade, but the two entries should not be merged until the separate note or device-level evidence is recovered. It should not be conflated with FydeOS. ## Evidentiary status and open leads - **Established:** the owner-corrected source reading is “Fyade”; another note reportedly proposes Fing. - **Candidate identification:** Fing fits a phone-based network-inspection context, but contextual fit is not proof of installation. - **Needed:** exact source page for “maybe Fing,” package identifier, version, signing information, app inventory, screenshot, or device backup. ## External reference - [Official Fing feature guide](https://help.fing.com/hc/en-us/articles/4418790433426-Fing-App-Features)
