# Identity and Account Continuity
Identity and account continuity is the preservation of the authoritative relationships among a person, their email addresses, domains, recovery methods, devices, subscriptions, cloud plans, and institutional accounts.
## Role in the notebook
In [[Scanned_20260730-1913]], the subject appears as domain/email migration (PDF page 3), Google Workspace and Android Enterprise planning (page 24), legacy Internet-account lineage (page 35), email authentication (page 37), device-location and recovery tools (page 42), Apple-device remediation (page 56), Apple/Microsoft identity notes (pages 59–62), carrier setup and recovery (pages 66 and 71), cross-platform inventories (pages 76–77), and cloud-storage billing (page 85).
The notebook treats identities as operational infrastructure. A login is not merely a string: it is bound to a registrar, domain, recovery channel, device, carrier, payment identity, and history.
## Security and archival boundary
Passwords, PINs, recovery codes, card data, and comparable secrets are not the historical insight and remain redacted. The archival value lies in the account topology, dates, roles, and migration dependencies. A recorded credential or account label does not prove current access, ownership, authorization, or compromise.

[[Scanned_20260730-1845]] adds a formal trust stack to the earlier continuity model: domains/admin roles, CAC/ECA/PIV, Verisign/NS1/Let's Encrypt, OpenID/Okta/SMS, Apple/Google aliases, SIM/OTP recovery, and institutional evidence portals.
It also demonstrates the collision problem directly. several [PERSON REDACTED] entries, email aliases, phone numbers, and iCloud labels appear together during a dispute, but display-name proximity cannot safely resolve human identity. Account history, issuance, carrier records, device state, and dated source artifacts must remain separate.
## Scanned_20260730-1958 overlay
[[Scanned_20260730-1958]] turns identity continuity into an explicit topology: domains connect to GoDaddy/Afternic; domains support Google Workspace and role mailboxes; mailboxes recover platforms; phones and devices carry authenticators; encrypted backups and password vaults preserve historical state; Apple and Google administration can impose organizational authority.
The notebook therefore supports [[Identity Dependency Graph]] as the missing operational model. Recovery fails at edges—an inaccessible mailbox, stale phone, lost tenant admin, managed device, or expired registrar path—not merely at login screens.
