## Provenance classes
| Class | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Owner-supplied contextual correction | The vault owner supplies later context about authorship, identity, setting, or purpose |
| Recovered-source addendum | A newly found note, document, screenshot, message, or recording changes the record |
| External verification | A reliable outside source confirms, narrows, or corrects a proposition |
| Cross-source reconciliation | Multiple archive layers are compared and differences remain visible |
## Rule
An addendum must state what earlier reading it changes. It must not silently rewrite quoted transcription or conceal that the correction was added later.
