# Oracle Autonomous Database
Oracle Autonomous Database is a managed Oracle database family that automates selected provisioning, tuning, patching, scaling, backup, and recovery tasks.
## Notebook evidence
PDF pages 11–12 of [[Scanned_20260730-1825]] distinguish Autonomous Database from Oracle Autonomous Linux and compare shared/serverless and dedicated deployment, elastic scaling, private resources, threat isolation, Amazon Redshift, and Amazon Aurora.
## Analytical boundary
Automated administration and tenant isolation are separate security properties. Neither removes the need to examine identities, network paths, control-plane access, recovery behavior, and the vendor claims underlying performance comparisons.
