# Serverless Computing
Serverless computing is a cloud operating model in which the provider manages much of the underlying capacity, provisioning, scaling, and maintenance while the customer consumes an application or data service.

## Evidentiary boundary
“Serverless” does not mean that no servers exist or that customer configuration is irrelevant. It names a division of operational responsibility.
