## Definition
**Posthuman Evolution** is the continuation of evolutionary change beyond present Homo sapiens through directed biology, cybernetic modification, machine intelligence or new synthetic substrates. The term does not decide whether the resulting beings preserve human identity, inherit civilization or constitute a distinct lineage.
