# AI-Mediated Communication
AI-mediated communication is human communication whose creation, selection, transformation, targeting, translation, moderation, or delivery is substantially shaped by artificial intelligence. The system may assist a known author, generate variants, rank visibility, or act through a synthetic persona.
The central questions are agency, disclosure, provenance, audience modeling, feedback, and accountability. AI increases speed and personalization but does not remove responsibility for truthfulness, manipulation, or downstream effects.
