Psychology may determine responsibility, relationships or prudential concern without determining which organism is numerically identical across time. The thinking-animal argument asks: if a human animal is sitting where you are and thinking your thoughts, why suppose that the thinker is a separate person constituted by the animal rather than the animal itself? ## Challenge to Digital Continuity On animalism, a computational reconstruction may be an accurate model, descendant or new person, but it is not the same human animal. Gradual replacement, perfect memory and causal fidelity do not automatically preserve the organism. This is a direct challenge to any claim that substrate migration establishes literal personal survival. ## Architectural Consequence The corpus must label animalism as a live rival, not an obsolete intuition.
