# Avago Technologies A semiconductor company descended from [[wiki/Hewlett-Packard|Hewlett-Packard]]'s semiconductor division that acquired [[wiki/LSI Corporation|LSI Corporation]] in 2013 (which contained [[wiki/Agere Systems|Agere Systems]], Bell Labs' microelectronics descendant), and then acquired Broadcom Corporation in 2016, taking its name. The resulting Broadcom Inc. ($700B+) embeds the DNA of the [[wiki/Transistor|transistor]]'s birthplace in the silicon that runs global networking infrastructure.
