## Definition
**Constitutional topology** is the arrangement of identities, permissions, relations, transactions, evidence, appeal, expulsion, return, and exit that determines who can occupy and act within a machine-mediated environment. It treats a constitution not only as a document but as the operative shape of possible participation.
## Significance
In [[articles/gamification/America Loves Games and the Home Court Advantage|America Loves Games and the Home Court Advantage]], stadium rules, digital twins, operational ontologies, command meshes, and APIs are linked by this question: who authors the environment, who can inspect its map, and how can a modeled subject correct or exceed the model? A topology is legitimate only when its rules and state changes remain observable, reviewable, revisable, and meaningfully escapable.
