It extends the logic of medical advance directives into computational continuity without treating the two as interchangeable. The directive is the instrument, not the choice itself. [[wiki/Continuity Election|Continuity Election]] is the person's decision; this directive records and projects it; [[wiki/Continuity Contract|Continuity Contract]] governs implementation by providers and custodians. ## Required Distinctions The directive should separately address: - temporary simulation and permanent transition; - biological life-support decisions and digital activation; - restoration after failure and creation of additional forks; - embodiment and representational authority; - provider choice, migration and emergency transfer; - inspection, research and commercial use; - succession, inheritance and post-transition obligations; and - conditions for suspension or final termination. It may set the initial conditions of transition, but it cannot make a later autonomous continuant the permanent property of the biological principal, agent, estate or provider. ## Current-Law Analogues The Uniform Health-Care Decisions Act and California's Advance Health Care Directive Registry show separable techniques for prospective instruction, agents, discovery, amendment and revocation. Texas disposition law separately shows an authenticated instrument appointing an agent for remains.
