# Continuity Disposition **Domain:** Continuity / Consent / Service Classification **Doc Type:** Canonical Choice Taxonomy **Maturity:** Proposed ## Definition A **Continuity Disposition** is the outcome class selected by a person's Continuity Election. It answers what may happen to person-relevant state; it does not by itself select a provider, prove identity or establish that an activated entity is numerically identical to the biological principal. ## Canonical Dispositions 1. **No technological continuation:** do not preserve continuity-purpose state beyond ordinary lawful retention. 2. **Archive only:** preserve authorized records without reconstructing a person-model. 3. **Preserve pending adjudication:** hold source material while identity, rights or authority remain unresolved. 4. **Reconstruct, do not activate:** permit model assembly and inspection without running a potentially sentient continuant. 5. **Dormant executable:** preserve an executable package and interpreter dependencies without scheduled subjective execution. 6. **Active continuation:** authorize activation under declared service and governance conditions. 7. **Embodied continuation:** authorize operation through a physical or plural embodiment. 8. **Builder or generative continuation:** authorize world-building and generative capability rather than confinement to a fitted destination world. These classes must remain independently selectable. **Archive authorization is not reconstruction authorization; reconstruction authorization is not activation authorization.** ## Later Autonomy The disposition governs the initial transition. It does not permanently fix the identity, beliefs, service class or life of an autonomous continuant. Continuity Supersession and Exit Rights return authorship when the continuant can exercise it. ## Key Insight **The right to be remembered, the right to be reconstructed and the authority to awaken a person are three different questions.** ## Corpus Sources Fuck the Environment: We're Building an Escape Hatch in the Skull · Who Pays for Your Heaven · Uploading Is Imminent · We Were Never Going to Make It · Black Mirror S3E4 — San Junipero ## See Also Long-Term Digital Preservation, Executable Preservation, Continuity Service Tiers, Reconstructed Person
