# Continuity Election Attestation **Domain:** Continuity / Identity / Privacy **Doc Type:** Canonical Technical-Legal Primitive **Maturity:** Proposed ## Definition A **Continuity Election Attestation** is a verifiable statement establishing a narrowly scoped fact about an operative [[wiki/Continuity Election|Continuity Election]]—for example that a non-revoked directive exists, that a named agent holds a defined authority, or that a particular election version governs—without exposing the complete directive. The attestation is evidence about an election. It is not the election, the underlying identity credential, a provider contract or permission to exceed the attested scope. ## Design Requirements - bind the attestation to a durable identity and exact directive version; - state issuer, scope, issue time, expiry or status-check method; - support revocation and supersession without rewriting history; - disclose only the minimum necessary attribute; - prevent correlation across unrelated transactions where possible; and - preserve an audit path to the protected source instrument. ## Current-Law Analogue Regulation (EU) 2024/1183 provides a framework for electronic attestations of attributes, revocation, qualified electronic archiving and qualified electronic ledgers.
