# Continuity Election Registry **Domain:** Continuity / Registry / Prospective Authority **Doc Type:** Canonical Institutional Concept **Maturity:** Proposed ## Definition A **Continuity Election Registry** is an authoritative, privacy-preserving system for discovering a person's operative [[wiki/Continuity Election|Continuity Election]], its version, revocation status, custody location and authentication path before any transition or activation decision. It records the directive relationship, not the future person. A [[wiki/Continuity Registry|Continuity Registry]] records actual residuals, models, executable packages, running continuants, provenance, custody and standing. Conflating the two would make a pre-transition preference look like proof that a post-transition entity exists. ## Minimum Record The registry should be able to establish: - stable identity of the biological principal; - directive identifier, version and execution date; - amendment, revocation and supersession history; - location and integrity proof of the full instrument; - authorized agents and the scope of their authority; - applicable jurisdiction and conflict-of-law rules; and - the minimum disclosure needed to route an authorized request. The public surface should disclose no more than is needed to establish status and locate the protected instrument. Beliefs, medical information and detailed disposition terms should remain access-controlled. ## Deep-Time Durability The registry cannot depend permanently on one vendor, signature suite or sovereign.
