A complete history of state may be useful for restoration while also enabling unprecedented retrospective control. ## Tension Necessary provenance answers who acted, under what authority and how state changed. Total legibility records every intermediate thought, simulation and rejected self. The first supports accountability; the second can eliminate mental privacy and freeze experimental identity into an inspectable dossier. ## Design Boundary Use selective disclosure, compartmented logs, purpose limitation, retention tiers, subject-controlled encryption and auditable access.
