These duties do not establish ownership over memory, identity or future agency. The creator-custodian must also prepare for the possibility that stewardship will end. A created system capable of meaningful refusal cannot remain permanently governed by hidden commands merely because those commands were installed by its author. ## Fictional Cases [[wiki/Harold Finch|Harold Finch]] tries to constitutionalize his authority over [[wiki/The Machine|the Machine]], yet daily memory erasure shows how protective intention can become coercive.
