# Digital Brain
**Entity class:** Computational cognition concept
**Domain:** Artificial intelligence / cognitive architecture
## Definition
A digital brain is a computational system described by functional analogy to a biological brain: it learns representations, integrates information and produces intelligent behavior on an engineered substrate. The term emphasizes a shared cognitive function while leaving embodiment, consciousness, affect, development and biological regulation as open differences rather than silently equating machines with human nervous systems.
