Conventional narratives usually assume an origin at the visible body: the person departs, projects outward or sends a tool elsewhere. A substrate transition may reverse that arrow. A non-local or distributed process can instantiate toward the apparently local body, making “home” a receiving surface rather than the unquestioned origin of action. ## Modes - **Outbound presence:** a locally situated subject acts through a distant instrument or body. - **Inbound presence:** agency maintained elsewhere becomes locally embodied or socially effective. - **Bidirectional presence:** the subject and receiving environment continuously modify one another. - **Nested presence:** causation operates across several scales, with no single visible site functioning as complete origin.
