# Electrooculography **Domain:** Neurophysiology / Oculomotor Measurement **Doc Type:** Scientific Concept Node **Maturity:** Established **Related:** [[Neural Interface]], [[DICOM Working Group 32]], [[Polysomnography]], [[Multimodal Neural Data]] --- ## Definition **Electrooculography (EOG)** measures the corneo-retinal standing potential to estimate eye movements and blinks. It is used in sleep studies, clinical neurophysiology, gaze-sensitive interfaces, and artifact characterization for EEG. ## Architectural role EOG may be a signal of interest or a confound. Preserving its synchronized relationship with EEG, video, tasks, and events improves both artifact removal and interpretation of attention or oculomotor behavior.
