# Executive Order 14318 **Title:** Accelerating Federal Permitting of Data Center Infrastructure **Date:** July 23, 2025 **Entity class:** Presidential executive order ## Definition **Executive Order 14318** made rapid construction of qualifying data-center infrastructure a federal priority. It defines covered AI data centers using a threshold above 100 MW of new electrical load for AI inference, training, simulation, synthetic-data generation, or related use and directs federal agencies to accelerate permitting and identify suitable federal land. Section 9 directs the Departments of Defense, Energy, and the Interior to identify sites and make appropriate federal lands available through lease or other mechanisms. This provides the direct federal-policy context for the Army's later Fort Bliss and Dugway solicitations.
