# Flow State **Domain:** Psychology / Creativity / Performance **Doc Type:** Concept Node **Maturity:** Developed ## Definition A **flow state** is a period of highly absorbed activity in which attention, skill, feedback, and challenge become closely coordinated. Self-conscious monitoring often recedes, temporal experience may change, and action can feel fluid without becoming passive or unskilled. Flow is not simply ease. It commonly depends on developed capability, a sufficiently clear activity, immediate feedback, and a challenge calibrated near the edge of the participant's ability. ## Corpus Context The corpus treats flow as an experiential bridge to Wu Wei: effective action can become less divided against itself when person, task, and environment are well aligned. ## See Also Consciousness · Agency · Cybernetics
