# Fractal Publishing Architecture Fractal publishing architecture preserves useful publication behavior across nested levels of granularity. In the Atomic Markdown and AutoSites system, a document contains independently addressable passages, passages contain independently addressable quotations, and each tier can have its own page, poster, feed record, search presence, and provenance edge. Every tier is both a destination and a container of the tier beneath it.
