# Global Loyalist Diaspora **Domain:** Revolutionary History / Diaspora Studies / Imperial Networks **Doc Type:** Historical Concept Node **Maturity:** Developed **Concept Hub:** [[wiki/War With Empire|War With Empire]] ## Definition **The global Loyalist diaspora was the post-1783 dispersal of people who had supported the British Crown during the American Revolution, together with enslaved people, free Black Loyalists, families, skills, records, capital relationships, and institutional knowledge carried through the surviving British imperial world.** ## Destinations The destinations named in [[articles/war with empire/The Real Deep State Is British|The Real Deep State Is British]] were not all independent countries at the time. They included British provinces, colonies, islands, and metropolitan destinations: Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec, the territory that became Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Cape Breton, Newfoundland, Bermuda, the Bahamas, Jamaica and the wider British West Indies, East Florida, England, Scotland, and Ireland. Later movements carried some communities, especially Black Loyalists, from Nova Scotia and Britain to Sierra Leone. ## Boundary Dispersal documents where people went.
