# Imperial Crypsis **Domain:** Imperial Adaptation / Institutional Power / Perception **Doc Type:** Concept Node **Maturity:** Developed **Concept Hub:** [[wiki/War With Empire|War With Empire]] ## Definition **Imperial crypsis is the adaptation by which an apparatus of asymmetric power becomes difficult to distinguish from the ordinary institutional environment through which power operates.** As visible coercion becomes costly, successful functions migrate into law, finance, standards, intelligence liaison, prestige, certification, and technical interoperability. Crypsis does not require continuous intent, secret command, or literal concealment.
