# Information Seeking **Information seeking** is behavior directed toward reducing uncertainty, improving a model of the environment, or acquiring observations that change future decisions. Neuroscience studies information as an object with motivational and reward value, including situations in which humans and other animals seek information about uncertain future outcomes.
