Intel’s **Anticipatory Computing Lab**, led by Lama Nachman, developed context-aware systems intended to anticipate a user’s needs from constrained input and surrounding context.
## Hawking and STEVE Context
The lab coordinated the work that produced the Assistive Context-Aware Toolkit for Stephen Hawking, with language-prediction contributions from SwiftKey. STEVE treats the system as a historically visible example of intention being inferred from sparse evidence while explicitly distinguishing predictive assistance from consciousness continuity.
