# Map-Deprivation
**Domain:** Epistemic rights / Governance
**Doc Type:** Developed Wiki Node
**Maturity:** Developed
**Collection:** [[collections/Gamification|Gamification Collection]]
## Definition
**Map-deprivation** is the condition in which a person is affected by a rule, score, classification, or intervention but cannot see the operative system well enough to understand or contest it.
## Significance
[[articles/gamification/America Loves Games and the Home Court Advantage|America Loves Games and the Home Court Advantage]] generalizes the problem from tournament administration to operational ontology. A person is map-deprived when a score, category, twin, or command model changes their possibilities while the operative rules, evidence, and correction path remain inaccessible.
It is the article's first limiting objection to symbolic administration and an institutional source of epistemic injury.
