# Merger Rights **Domain:** Continuity Rights / Composite Identity **Merger Rights** govern the integration of two or more independently standing cognitive processes. A merge is not ordinary data combination when each input can consent, remember, promise, own, suffer or claim an independent future. The operation raises questions that survive technical success: Did every participant authorize the merge? Can it be reversed? Which memories and values remain accessible? Who inherits contracts, liabilities and relationships? Does the composite receive independent standing, and do the source persons continue separately? A provider must not answer those questions solely through implementation convenience. _Pantheon_ offers contrasting cases. Yair and Farhad merge after catastrophic damage; Caspian merges with Holstrom during conflict. Both show why emergency, coercion and survival pressure complicate consent. A composite may be a successor or descendant without being a simple continuation of either input.
