# Military-Entertainment Complex
**Domain:** Military simulation and media
**Doc Type:** Developed Concept Node
**Maturity:** Developed
**Collection:** Gamification Collection
## Definition
The **military-entertainment complex** names the institutional and technical exchange among armed forces, defense research, universities, film, and game industries. Simulation engines, interfaces, visual effects, personnel, and narratives move in both directions rather than along a single propaganda pipeline.
## Significance
SIMNET, the Institute for Creative Technologies, and America's Army document different layers of the exchange: distributed training, hybrid research, and public-facing recruitment. The concept identifies procurement and circulation; it does not imply that all entertainment is military-controlled.
