# Moonshot Labs **Entity class:** Unclassified geospatial-innovation facility **Opened:** 2021 **Location:** St. Louis, Missouri ## Definition **Moonshot Labs** is the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency's first unclassified collaborative innovation center. NGA opened the approximately 12,000-square-foot space at the T-REX innovation center to bring government, industry, academia, software developers, and data scientists together around unclassified and open-source geospatial solutions. NGA described Moonshot Labs as an interim preview of the collaborative environment planned for its new St. Louis campus. Its existence demonstrates that intelligence-industry integration also occurs through deliberately unclassified spaces, not only inside secure facilities. ## Relationships - **operator:** National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. - **engagement family:** NGA Industry Days and Technology Showcases. - **enterprise:** National System for Geospatial Intelligence. - **collection:** Terrorism, Counterterrorism, and the Intelligence Environment. ## Sources / Provenance - [NGA — Moonshot Labs opening, July 19, 2021](https://www.nga.mil/news/NGA_celebrates_opening_of_Moonshot_Labs_in_St_Loui.html)
