# Multi-Sensor Fusion
**Entity class:** Data-fusion method
## Definition
**Multi-sensor fusion** combines observations from different sensors, platforms, locations, or modalities to form a more useful estimate than any single stream can provide. The fused product can improve coverage, confidence, classification, tracking, or resilience when sources have different strengths and failure modes.
