# Murray Hill
An unincorporated community in New Providence Township, New Jersey, home to the principal research facility of [[wiki/Bell Labs|Bell Labs]] since 1941. The Murray Hill campus housed the laboratories where the [[wiki/Transistor|transistor]] was invented, [[wiki/Claude Shannon|Claude Shannon]] developed [[wiki/Information Theory|information theory]], and [[wiki/Unix|Unix]] was created. [[wiki/Nokia Bell Labs|Nokia Bell Labs]] continues to operate the Murray Hill facility today.
