# Naming Power **Domain:** Classification / Institutional power **Doc Type:** Developed Wiki Node **Maturity:** Developing **Collection:** Gamification Collection ## Definition **Naming power** is the capacity to define the categories by which entities become legible to an institution. It becomes operational when a name or classification is connected to permissions, workflows, resources, sanctions, or predictive action. ## Significance Naming is not identical to control, but an ontology can make some actions easy, others invisible, and some subjects actionable. The ethical boundary is whether categories disclose their basis, preserve uncertainty, admit counterevidence, and allow the represented subject to exceed the name. ## Routes Classification · Operational Terrain of Meaning · Palantir Ontology · Finalization · Epistemic Sovereignty ## Source - America Loves Games and the Home Court Advantage
