# Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting Initiative **Aliases:** NSI; Nationwide SAR Initiative **Entity class:** National information-sharing initiative ## Definition The **Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting Initiative (NSI)** provides standards, policies, processes, and training for federal, state, local, and tribal law-enforcement entities to identify, evaluate, and share suspicious-activity reports with a potential terrorism nexus. GAO reported that by February 2013 DOJ had trained about 290,000 of an estimated 800,000 line officers, briefed executives at 77 of 78 fusion centers, and trained about 2,000 analysts.
