# Neural Command Channel
**Entity class:** Interface-security concept
## Definition
The **neural command channel** is the authorized pathway through which a computational system selects, parameterizes, and delivers stimulation or neuromodulation to neural tissue. Its trust state depends on authenticated origin, authorized purpose, unaltered transmission, safe parameter bounds, correct model behavior, and auditable execution.
## Security significance
A writable BCI is secure only when the device and this channel are both trustworthy. Compromise at the permission, model, communications, firmware, or stimulation layer can transform an otherwise functioning device into a means of unauthorized biological control.
