# New Beginnings
**Domain:** Human Development / Transition / Agency
**Doc Type:** Concept Node
**Maturity:** Developed
## Definition
**New Beginnings are deliberate entries into a changed life, practice, relationship, vocation, or identity after an ending, disruption, recognition, or decision.**
## Mechanism and Practice
A beginning becomes sustainable when it is protected from premature judgment, reduced to manageable action, and allowed to improve through practice. Age, imperfect conditions, and prior failure do not eliminate the capacity to start.
