# Nonduality **Domain:** Philosophy / Contemplative Traditions **Doc Type:** Concept Node **Maturity:** Developed ## Definition **Nonduality** names approaches in which an apparently fundamental division—self/world, observer/observed, subject/object, or being/nonbeing—is understood as derivative, partial, or experientially penetrable. Nonduality does not mean that every practical distinction disappears. It questions whether distinction requires absolute separation and whether the perceiving subject can be isolated from the field in which perception occurs. ## Corpus Context The journal connects nonduality to silence, contemplation, Taoism, and Zen while keeping those traditions historically distinct. ## See Also Monism · Observation · Boundary · Formlessness
