A wider common envelope changes which system arrangements can be built without each operator inventing a proprietary enclosure. ## Higher-Order Capability Standardizing the rack-level boundary permits multiple suppliers to design equipment and facility interfaces around the same spatial assumptions. It allows innovation inside the compute domain while making deployment and service more composable at the installation boundary. ## Relation to Governance Open Rack Wide demonstrates that interoperability sometimes requires changing the container rather than forcing new systems into a legacy geometry.
