The contingency is not a complete command channel. It is an interface whose meaning must be learned through interaction. ## Protocol Discovery The episode shows human-machine relation forming through partial signals rather than transparent access. Reese must infer how numbers are encoded, distinguish mission output from assistance and persuade the Machine to make Finch's disappearance actionable within its constraints.
